Paul M Herrera  M.R.C.

Paul is President of Aging and Disability Resources and Exploration Series Publications. He served as President and CEO of RCI Inc. (New Mexico) and Director of Adult Services – Stark County Board of DD and Vocational Services - Goodwill Industries of Akron (Ohio).  He currently serves as an Ombudsman Associate, State of Ohio, Department of Aging.  During his career he was chair of state wide organizations, and board member of charitable organizations. His professional training includes a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling and advanced training in leadership development , rehabilitation administration (DePaul University) and life span development and gerontology (University of Akron).  Paul participated in and completed the New Venture Leadership program (American Society on Aging).  He was awarded the AAMR Ruth Roberts Service Award and named Outstanding Ohio Rehabilitation Administrator (Ohio Rehabilitation Association)   He has written and published several books including: Innovative Programming for Older Adults with DD and Uniquely Me – A Personal Enhancement Program.  He is currently the editor of Active Aging I/DD, eNewsletter.

Paul has assisted organizations in preparation for initial CARF International accreditation since leading the Stark County Board of DD to its initial CARF accreditation over 25 years ago. Since then he has assisted other organizations prepare for their first CARF survey or the re-survey. Paul has been a surveyor for CARF International for 20 + years. He has surveyed organizations in nearly half of the United States and conducted several CARF surveys in Canada.
